In a hang-glider you are you are suspended by a single cable from a hook in the middle of the glider and if that breaks you get to meet Jesus - hence the name. Apparently the correct term is "seat suspension point" but I never heard it referred to other than as the Jesus Hook during my brief time flying many decades ago.
Maybe in these times of diversity this is in deference to those of a religious dispensation - and you need to be really as the statistics are not good - hang-gliding is the world's most dangerous air related activity.
