Photography and Filming

Photography

This is now my private website and all my business interests are at Armstrong Brooks Group

I have been taking photographs since I was a kid with a Box Brownie. I would develop the film in a developing tank and then produce the photographs (in black and white) using a contact printer (an enlarger was out of the question). Since then I have mainly photographed buildings for my business and cars for fun.

But recently I thought I would try my hand at shooting a professional model and this is the result from 26th July 2019.

In the second shot, the model's face is too dark and in the last shot the door handle needs removing. If I had a spare hour, I would make changes with an image editor (hint, hint)

In case you are wondering where the line is between Art and Porn - in Art, the models are thinner.

Filming

The photo below is of my flat in Spinningfields arranged as a set for The City and the City, starring David Morrissey and made by Mammoth (who also made Poldark) and screened by the BBC in April 2018.

Although they filmed in my flat for three days they only used a few minutes of that - this is a DVD Extract showing David Morrissey in the flat (note the two red chairs and the glass table)

The same site finder (you get on a list) had earlier offered me a big pile of money to film Houdini & Doyle at my house (it was commissioned by Fox in the USA but who made the series I don't know) but I turned them down. Forty people for a month. They wanted to remove the front doors, take up the carpets, repaint the walls and remove the grand piano. And HMRC would have taken half the proceeds - no thank you.

But having said that, I did let them film part of The Irregulars in my theatre. What, you don't have a theatre in your house? Not even a small one?

Now viewable on Netflix - the scene in my house occupies a few minutes at the start of Episode 5 in Series 1.

Bob Cory Productions

I have a brilliant idea for a film which one day I will make myself for a few thousand pounds - film companies waste money on a scale that is hard to comprehend. I was at a shoot for a bed commercial. It starred a bed (no suprise there), a camera man (ditto), a sound man (even though the bed hardly said a word) and a director. Oh, and a couple of midgets to make the bed look bigger. So what exactly were the thirty (I counted them) people with clipboards doing?

My film will star a very pretty girl who takes her clothes off (I know, I know) and a good looking young hunk (I would have done it but I'm directing). It will also need an Audi R8 (tick), a helicopter, (tick) and a serious jet (tick). It starts off looking like a very bad porno (stop grinning, this is art - I mean Art) but then you realise in a series of shock events that this is not what you thought it was. It ends with one final suprise that will leave you stunned (I hope) and badly in need of a drink (available in the bar at evening prices - what did you expect, Aldi?).

It will be written, produced, directed, filmed and edited by me. And that's me over there selling the ice creams.
